Longer Length Hair with Box Braids & CornBraids Low Manipulation Styling

Box Braids & Cornbraids Low Manipulation Styling

What can be said about a bunch of box braids and a few cornbraids for accent? Yeah, this style took me about 1 hour to complete because I decided to make my braids smaller than I should have. BUT (Hahaha), I wore this style for about 8 days. On the final leg of the style, I opened up the back and wore the braidout with the cornbraid detailing.

Products used: Eden Body Works Hair Milk

Versatile still, because I could put it in a ponytail, a banana clip, a bun or whatever. I made sure to finish off the braid with a twist at the end (starting at about 2'' from the end). This makes it easier to close off the ends, and makes the take-down easier. I had fun with this style. This is a great option for when hair gets longer, and styling frustrations start to set in. It gives a nice little break, while resting the hair/ends. Low manipulation styling all the way BABY....

Transitioning Hair Blues? Give Yourself A Break With Braids!

Transitioning From Relaxed to Natural: Do Loose Braids!

This Technique Helps Keep the Hair From Coming Loose While in Braids

During my transition from relaxed hair to natural, sometimes I would be at a loss for styling options where I wouldn't be walking around looking......not sane. I did alright with the care and TLC part of the transition, but styling has always been my weakness. I did figure out a way to braid my hair (yes, my very own hair--no extensions) while I was transitioning. How did you keep the relaxed ends from un-ravelling, you ask?

1) Wash/Condition Hair
2) Air Dry to about 50%
3) Blow Dry on COLD (you can put your moisturizer now)
4) Section
5) Moisturize (something Shea Butter or Pomade thick)--No Water Based Moisturizers
6) Braid (Small, but not mini)

By blow drying your hair on Cold, you will allow the relaxed hair to "swell", which will help to keep it from coming loose. It's not gonna be a good idea to do this trick on freshly cut, blunt ends. So if you just cut your ends, you gotta wait a few weeks.

I also played with adding extensions and doing my braids too. Ain't nothing wrong with that. It gave me the opportunity to play with colors--and we all love colors!

African American Boys Merge Fashion With Their Natural Hair

Maintain Style with Lengthy Afro Textured Hair--Boys Too!
African American Men and Healthy Hair Growth
Looking like a million bucks without too much effort is what it's all about these days! Simple braided style on natural hair pairs real well with the right seasonal attire. You've got enough going on with school and don't need the added hassle of daily hair maintenance. Now don't get me wrong, these braids require moisture daily. Simply use your favorite leave in moisturizer alongside some water in a spray bottle, add some jojoba oil, and spritz your hair daily. This will combat dryness that is often caused by day to day sun exposure, and normal daily wear n tear. These low fuss braids compliment pretty much any outfit. Throw on a simple t shirt by Obey, paired with jeans--put your books in a backpack from Baggu--out the door. No fuss, no muss. When keeping it simple just looks good.
