Castor Oil & Aloe Vera Gel: QUICK DRY HAIR FIX

As I type, I can't feel my fingers. And although in the Sunshine State, we are not without our share of cold weather (contrary to popular belief). SIDE NOTE: Why did I just hear that someone fell through their floor and 50 feet down into the Earth?

Even worse, the few cold days that we get, most of us don't know what to do (how to act, how to dress, why is this happening)?

You have to understand, I started out last week with moisturized hair like this (picture on left). By the time the cold weather came through, there was no more shine, luster or healthy look. It was just a big fuzzy ball of dry, ashy looking hair.

Yesterday was Sunday. My hair was crispy dry. No, I don't have any pictures. I pulled back into a low bun, and hoped for the best. I did about 6 plaits on air dried hair the night before, with the hopes of wearing a braid out. Well, I'm guessing that my hair was not moisturized well, and it showed. My braidout definition was gone within the hour. I didn't care. I spent most of my Sunday preparing for the week, and lounging.

Today is Monday, and since my fingers were frozen Sunday night, and I spent about 1 hour doing Dimple's hair--I had no hair texture this morning. I was met with a big, bushy afro. Due to time constraints, I don't think I have any pictures of that either, just trust me--BIG AFRO.

So after I drenched my hair in water under the running shower (and my hair seemed to take forever to get wet), I spritzed my hair with a bit of water/vinegar (1 tablespoon vinegar, 2 ounces of water). I let that sit for about 5 minutes, and then rinsed.

This with the hopes of getting any products off of my strands. Then I co-washed with Nature's Gate conditioner (Aloe Vera). This helped revive my coils a bit.

THE HAIR STYLE PLANS: A Low Ponytail With Coily Ends Detail (SOMETIMES I DO A BUN LIKE THE ONE SHOWN ABOVE).

Now, this isn't my style of choice, but it's a great "Go To" style for 5 minutes worth of work.

MY LEAVE IN FOR COLD WEATHER & COIL MOISTURE: For this "freezing" weather, I chose Aloe Vera Gel and Castor Oil to Hydrate and LOCK IN moisture.
DON'T MISS OUT ON CASTOR OIL AS A PREMIUM LEVEL OIL TO SEAL IN MOISTURE DURING THE COLD WINTER DAYS & NIGHTS!!

Over 4 hours later, my coils are still feeling moisturized, and soft--even though the hair has dried. It's about 50 degrees outside, and my hair has truly been exposed to THE ELEMENTS.

Keeping my hair moisturized during cold weather will ensure that I avoid breakage. It also helps me to define my chilly coils, and keep them from looking dry and thirsty.
